That's a Boston Qualifier

Ottawa was my 4th marathon. I had a great race...I ran the whole way (walked through water stations), and held a steady pace for both halfs.

A day before the race, Nike+ downloaded some firmware into the Nike+ GPS sportswatch so Average Pace was there (wasn't previously), it was great, used it the whole way.

Loved the sprinklers on the side of the road a couple of times, and loved when it started raining. For me, the conditions were perfect. Really enjoyed it. There is a lot of crowd support in Ottawa which is fantastic. It's also very helpful at some critical times in the race!

Anyway, finally got that sub 4:00 finish, coming in at 3:57:25. A PB by of around 5 minutes, and a BOSTON QUALIFIER! May not get in with that but surprisingly, doesn't really matter...just thrilled that I qualified and got that sub 4:00 finish.

First time I ever ran through the finish with my arms up, and also screamed and hollered when I saw the clock (my gun time less than 4:00 too). Can't wait to see those pics...might be kind of funny.

Here are the official stats*:

Chip Time: 3:57:25
Overall Placement: 1643/4202
Category Placement: 45/226
Gender Placement: 298/1469

10K Split: 56:17
21K Split: 1:58:11
30K Split: 2:47:45
Overall Time: 3:57:25

*it seems some people running the mrathon took the half marathon turn off and cut their race short. They seem to have removed these people from the official results and therefore my stats have been improved slightly.
