Today I ran the inaugural Barrie Waterfront Half Marathon. Official results are 1:55:27 for time; 81/214 overall placement; 6/35 age group placement; and 20/96 gender placement. This is a new PB for me in the Half Marathon, which is great, especially since I haven't run in a week. The course was nice, two out and backs. The first one a little hilly and the 2nd half pretty flat. Beautiful run along the Barrie Waterfront. The event was sponsored by Honda and it was awesome. A $60 entry fee which is quite reasonable these days. Nice shirt and some great (big) bling.
I accidentally started my running watch about 15 minutes before the race (duh) so didn't know my time/pace. I knew I was making progress when the starting pace of 35:00 minutes/mile (due to error) improved to around 10:00 minutes/mile at the end!
This marks the end of the vacation too. Back to work tomorrow. We came home from camping at Bon Echo yesterday, after 5 nights of fun! No running but lots of walking/hiking. The weather could have been better but all in all a great trip.
