I have a cold....It actually started the Sunday night/Monday after the Midsummer Night's Run and hasn't let up since. It started in my chest for the first week with congestion and coughing. This week it's still there and also in my head....today it's even affecting my eye...gross. Along with those symptoms (which I can actually handle) is the extreme fatigue, tired legs etc. That's the part that makes it hard to run.
I was trying my best to push through and continue training. Amelia was with me this weekend so I switched my long runs (was supposed to do 20 miles this weekend and switched it to 16). I managed to run 12 miles. She actually rode her bike with me for the first 5 miles at Tom Taylor Trail. Then spent the rest of my run, visiting with Oma!
So while my mileage wasn't where it should have been, I did manage to get in 29 miles in total. However, I think that had I rested more during the week, then maybe I'd be feeling better by now. So I'm going to listen to the expert advice and rest at least for another day or two and then see how it goes.
That 20 mile run is scheduled for this weekend now...we'll see.

Try not to stress about missed runs. Get well soon!
So frustrating to be sick during training. :( I always feel like I should push through, but that usually isn't the best idea. Rest up and I hope you feel better soon!
