Whitby Waterfront Races

Next up: Whitby Waterfront Races 5K on Sunday November 20. Amelia will be doing the 1K. This is an event I've done annually since I started running (which is only 3 years). In 2008 it was my first 10k race, in 2009 it was the 10 miler, and last year I ran the 5K where I placed 1st in my age group (first and only AG placement). So lots of firsts at the Whitby Waterfront races. It was Amelia's first 1K as well, back in 2009 and she ran it again last year.

So the Whitby Waterfront races seem to have become a staple in my running itinerary.

This year I'm doing the 5K again. I didn't want to run another distance event so thought this would be a good way to get some speed work in.

I've been pretty sluggish since the Scotiabank marathon, feeling heavy and tired when I run. I'm hoping this quick burst of speed will kick me back into shape.

Great event for anyone looking for something to run this weekend!

I hope that you ran a very good race! It has to be nice to run along a waterfront.

I see that you're scheduled to run the Boston Marathon? Wow! I am incredibly impressed.

Due to a couple health issues I can't run, but I always look enviously at people I drive by who are out running. I admire your diligence and perseverance in running these marathons!

Aww thanks Becky that's really nice. However, even though you can't run...you and your family are more than impressive to me! What you have all gone through and how you persevere is nothing short of amazing!
